Professor Brian Sikes, of the DePaul Art Department spent the fall semester in Rome. He introduced interested students to an artistic perspective on the streets, churches, monuments, and circumstances of Rome in his course Genius Loci. Here the students study the stunning Spanish Steps in the Piazza di Spagna. |

At the end of October we voyaged south as a group to the important sites around Naples. Here is the group at Paestum, in front of an ancient Greek temple from the 6th century B.C. |

The semester ended with a group celebration: a 4 course dinner at the elegant Taverna Angelica. Here Prof. Sikes gives a farewell message to the group. In the foreground is Prof. Kate Jansen, of the Department of History at The Catholic University of America, who participated in the semester and led the students through a history of Italy in her course Rome and Italy in the Age of Dante.
